In episode 21, of season 2, "Conflict Resolution," there are many examples of interpersonal conflict (an expressed struggle between interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from one another (350)).
The first example of interpersonal conflict is when Oscar is venting to Toby (HR Rep) about Angela. Oscar sits next to Angela every day and next to her desk, so Oscar can see easily, is two almost naked babies wearing hats and playing instruments. Angela thinks it is cute and Oscar thinks it is very offensive and disturbing. He finally decides to do something about it and creates a formal complaint. Oscar is yelling while he tells Toby what is going on and Michael overhears.
Michael decides to take matters into his own hands (more out of spite for Toby than anything). He gets a book call "A Mediator's Tool Chest" with a bunch of conflict resolution tacics. While Michael goes over each tactic, they argue about the best approach to resolve the problem. They are engaging in metaconflict (conflict about conflict (354)). Not only go they already have conflict between Oscar and Angela about the poster, but then Michael throws ridiculous suggestions in there, making them both, especially Oscar even more angry.
In the end, Michael decides that Oscar is going to wear the poster as a T-shirt so Angela can see it and Oscar can't....... Oh, Michael...
