The Office

This site's main objective is to analyze many different theories and concepts within Interpersonal Communication. Each topic is analyzed through the hit television series The Office, so we can have a better understanding of how interpersonal communication effects us every day. 

The Office is a television series that started in 2005. The setting is an office of a paper company called Dunder Mifflin placed in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The idea of a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania is depicted to be extremely boring and uneventful, yet it is everything but. This series focuses on many outrageous situations that happen with the coworkers in this office. While the show mainly focuses on Michael, the office manager, and his effect on the office, we also see the many very different personalities throughout each person working in the office.

Michael is the office manager of Dunder Mifflin. Michael's main goal in the office is to make his employees laugh and like him. While trying to be everyone's friend he tends to be inappropriate and unethical for the office environment.

Dwight is the top salesman at Dunder Mifflin. He is one of the most off characters of the show. He is dedicated to being loyal to Michael, as well as being self-sufficient, and intelligent. He considers Jim his enemy, and consistantly falls for his pranks throughout the show. 
Jim is a salesman for Dunder Mifflin, who doesn't care much about his job. He is very easy going, and one of the most down to earth characters in the show. He spends most of his time at the office pranking Dwight and talking to Pam at the reception desk.

​Pam is the receptionist at Dunder Mifflin. She, as well as Jim, is one of the most level headed people in the office. She is considered the office "hottie" yet she refuses to acknowledge that concept. She has a passion for art and is ignorant of her love for Jim for a long time.
